    Matt Smith Dr Who

I loved it, it was fun, with humor and gentle moments and was a bit less bombastic than the final RTD stuff. I'm feeling quite enthusiatic about the whole thing. I really loved the glowing alien eye. Matt Smith was great fun, after seeing him on various chatshows I was not sure, but obviously...

    Tron Legacy (trailer up)

More snippets here, with Bruce himself taking part in some faux press release viral marketing: http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/108/1081691p1.html

    What are you watching now?

Old Trek's effects were shakey and don't res-up to HD well, but they still have class. I liked the CGI recreations, but it would be a shame if the model stuff disappeared completely. The instrumental music in TOS is just fantastic.

    What is JMS doing?

I hope its not too much of a task, it would be great. I'd also feel slightly odd about 'friending' him. If there is some sort of RSS feed in facebook for posts, that could possibly be grabbed and wrangled?

    What are you watching now?

Firefly. Properly in order. Whilst eating my words over all the bad things I may have said about it in the past.

    What is JMS doing?

Jan, Is his personal facebook page used for any project updates or announcment? I can only find the fan page. If so, any chance of getting them archived at JMSNEWS ?

    Star Trek Films Redux

I've got all of them on DVD, yet Kahn is the only one that gets a relatively constant rewatch. But I would rate 3 & 4 as also fairly great, mainly due to the story the flows between them. 6 is also fairly wicked, and has great Klingons. When you hear about how the budget and production of 5 got...

    Tron Legacy (trailer up)

2nd trailer up, with loads of Bruce! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P78pl1FUXfA&feature=player_embedded He is really cool in this. Here is the first trailer in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1IpPpB3iWI This looks like being the big geeky blockbuster this year. And it is in 3D ...

Game of Thrones Greenlit for HBO

With Crows, his editor stepped in and suggested he split it. From various blog posts, I understand that he's reworked the concept and chornological / geographic boundaries of Dragons already, its no longer a parallel with Crows. I suspect the same thing may happen here. He's also worked his way...

Its been used in engineering and science to describe a fictional material to prove a point or argue a hypothosis for many years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unobtainium So it was an engineering in-joke, be it one a bit lost on the general audience. Its the creative equivalent of dilithium...

    What are you watching now?

Final season, filming is underway / almost finished. I enjoyed the end of the second season, although it will never have quite the impact of Life on Mars.

    Stargate Sg1 nudity

It was the pilot. Back in the 1990's, Bush and boobs were needed to sell a show. Interestingly, the producers have recently recut the intro and added new effects etc. They've also taken out the good stuff.

    What are you watching now?

No time for TV. Mass Effect 2 rules my life. Its the best bit of sci-fi I've enjoyed in ages.

Well I love it, but I do realise that its mostly for the same reasons I hated Titanic. I guess it was the added aliens, dragons and 3D gimmick. Better than faux Irish accents and English villains. But yeah, its all lightweight Cameron mind fluff. I would love to see him do something like Aliens...
