Martin is heavily involved in production and blogging: http://grrm.livejournal.com/ Quite interesting. Hopefully, hes' sneaking in a few extra chapters on the latest books as well...

    Defying Gravity

I watch 2/3rds of an episode last night and quite enjoyed it. It felt like the West Wing in space. I personally thought the cast were great. However I automatically assumed it was cancelled when I realised it was a sci-fi show! And I was right !

    V on ABC November 3, 2009

Apparently the network is screwing this up already: http://io9.com/5396219/v-is-not-doomed-and-you-should-still-watch?skyline=true&s=i However, the producer of the Shield now being in charge gives me some hope.

Quietly stoked, after hearing bad things about Stargate U and Flash Forward.

    Stargate Universe

I will probably torrent this and give it a try. I have no episodic spaced based sci-fi on the go at the moment.

    Star Trek (SPOILERS)

I think the rest of the world could use the same argument about Sean Connery attempting to play a non scot. At least Pegg attempted an accent. Connery was too lazy to try any accent other than his own! Sorry mate :D

So...what is everybody reading now? (part Deux)

Hell yeah. Such a great name for an imprint. The Horus cycle stuff, but also Ravenor. Revisiting my heady youth of inhaling too much citadel paint. Anything written by Dan Abnett bascially. GKE, I actually think I read that one for my degree, but have probably blanked it out.

So...what is everybody reading now? (part Deux)

China Meville, 'UnLondon' and a load of 40K books I'm getting cheap of Amazon.

    Primeval

It may have issues, but it is still better than another 365 month long season of Strictly Come Dancing ...

    What are you watching now?

My friends are quite into it. Saw the second Narnia film. Good animal vs spaniard action.

    What are you watching now?

Saw the Death Race remake last night. Had a couple of beers on the way, but I really enjoyed the blatant and pastiche levels of gratuity. The film reveled in its lowest common denominator outlook. Jason Statham can be a good lead as well. Outlander was suprisingly good, and I rewatched the...

The B5 official magazines published by Titan being ripped off

Agreed with Jan, its the creators work at stake. Would I pay for someone to re-publish it all, either digitally or in a collectors edition ? Quite possibly.

    Universal fast track BSG movie

Those were the two films Hyp yeah. GKE, you are spot on and as someone who paid to see Transformers 2 I acknowledge I am also the problem. And I do like cheesy big budget action film sequel/franchises, in fact I love them. I guess I just want to see more of the thoughtful stuff, films like...

    Universal fast track BSG movie

We've got at least two good original sci-fi flicks out this year. Avatar may be a third. Hopefully that will convince the suits to stop pulling this kind of shit.

    Universal fast track BSG movie

A stupid stupid supid idea, and this article in iO9 tells us why: http://io9.com/5337742/is-bs3-doomed-to-failure?skyline=true&s=x

    District 9?

I got Geek-horn for this one. Its great to see a sci-fi movie that is not a remake, franchise, novel or comic book spin off. To get two in one year is awesome.
