    Cool stuff throughout the show

Re: Cool stuff in season 1 I was sure it was the same guy. Will re-watch again ... In my defence, I'm getting married this week, so my head is all over the shop.

    The Gathering: Laurel Takashima

See my other thread about cool season 1 things I missed. The rewatch is going well so far.

    Cool stuff throughout the show

Re: Cool stuff in season 1 It was open to intepretation. In one sequence, Jack and another security officer encounter Bester, and tell him 'its just a drill'. It was implied that Bester scanned them and found out they were lying, but given that Jack was there as a sleeper agent for Psi-Corp (he...

    Cool stuff throughout the show

Just watching this now for about the fourth time. Am enjoying it a lot more picking up small things I still missed the other three times! For instance, the guy that shoots Garibaldi at the end of the season is in the episode 'Mind War' (1.6). There are two or three sequences where he...

    Uncomfortable Plot Summaries

It also seems to happen every Friday night in my village. ..

So...what is everybody reading now? (part Deux)

Weaveworld was a better Barker really. I read Mister B. Gone, which was pretty sucky. Just finished Acacia: The War with the Mein by David Anthony Durham. Somthing to kill time whilst waiting for the next George RR Martin. That and the latest Peter Hamilton and Alistair Reynolds.

    What are you watching now?

Do you mean Patlabor ? Always wanted to watch that. I still love Akira, and rate it up there with BaldeRunner. Not watched much else, but am always partial to a bit. I agree on the 'genericness' feel of it all, although that may partly be down to Western sensibilities and conditioning.

    What are you watching now?

I think the band improved thier sound a LOT during Johnston's era, but Scott's voice on Highway has such a raw edge. I have nothing personal against Johnston, he still sounds hot on Black Ice.

    B5 Canon Books/Comics - Worth a damn?

I'd love to see a short story collection. It would go nicely with some of the unpublished Crusade scripts. Any chance of this being cribbed together by the scripts team ?

Ashes to Ashes (Life on Mars Spin Off/Sequel)

I'm looking forward to this as well, the show had found its own voice by the end of the first season.. It got very trippy later on with the use of 80's pop video homages.

    What are you watching now?

Just mid way through season 1 again myself. Back in Black is probably my fav post-Scott DC album, with higway as best. Fairly traditional choices

Anyone know what is in this comic?

It did not help them take off. To be blunt, the art really sucked. Also, at the time, people only wanted to draw super heroes. Comics have improved immensely since then, in scope & colouring techniques. Sci-fi comics now get decent artists, and the growth of CGI work in comics also helps. The...

    B5 Canon Books/Comics - Worth a damn?

Is that OmahaStar from JMS news perchance? Eitherway, welcome ! You are spot on with the novels and canon. The trilogies are all great, I'm read-reading the Psicorp ones now. Not read any others myself. Comics were mostly scripts by JMS himself. Art is squiffy, but they are worth it. One arc...

    Galactica Season 4 (Spoilers Within)

The chief was awesome throughout, even back in season 1 when he did not have a clue if he was a cylon or not. Aaron Douglas is great, I hope we see more of him. He has enough range to do lead series roles. I figured maybe the Final Five stuff was partly RDM's way of rewarding those actors, by...

    Galactica Season 4 (Spoilers Within)

Yeah. We talked about them so much in season 1 & 2 I figured we started taking it for granted. Especially when it became obvious that the plot was not there to back it up.
