    Customizable Forum Experience?

Right. Thanks! I might do that. Usually, I'm not unduly bothered by having threads that I'm not interested in showing unread posts.

    "Today we lost Richard Biggs"

Re: \"Today we lost Richard Biggs\" Today is the third anniversary of Richard Biggs' death. I thought it might be appropriate to celebrate the life of a wonderful man and actor. *lights a candle*

    Customizable Forum Experience?

Currently you have to subscribe to threads manually, it won't happen automatically. I tend to use the quick reply option anyway, so I never even see the subscription dialog. For me, clicking mark forums read isn't that much of a bother, but that's just me.

Confessions and Lamentations similarity to BSG/Spoiler

The thing I like best about both B5 and BSG is that they make me think and question myself and my values. I usually end up more convinced than ever that I have found the right way for me to live, but the ethical issues involved in both shows do provide more intellectual stimulation than most...

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

That's a fair point I suppose. I can accept that unrealistic portrayal may be necessary, but in that case, why show it at all? Of course I like most if not all viewers of the show am lucky in that I've never been exposed to any sort of attempts at brainwashing. My main gripe against those two...

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

I understand what you're getting at, but I still think it was a bit disappointing.

Confessions and Lamentations similarity to BSG/Spoiler

Oh, yes. I do hope we get at least some explanations to the mysteries in the fourth (and possibly final) season of BSG. The temple was built by humans and/or the Lords of Kobol. When it comes to fascinating mystique, BSG is second only to Babylon 5 IMO.

    Sci-Fi Debate

Science-fiction labeled as such won't sell, except to a niche market. So, if people are aiming for a greater mass of viewers/readers, they'll do just about anything to avoid that designation if possible. With a few exceptions. To me, SW is a mythological saga dressed up as a space opera. Just...

    'Gilmore Girls' is officially ending

I quit watching once the kids hit college, somehow just losing interest. I sort of liked the idea of Rory being more conservative than her mother, but somehow the idea just got old... The high school shows should end when the kids graduate, even if the actors look more like college graduates at...

Confessions and Lamentations similarity to BSG/Spoiler

The Markabs were dying from a disease they thought was caused by immoral living. If they had been less superstitious, they might have enlisted the help of other races early enough to find a cure before dying out completely. In essence, they died because their leaders were stupid. With the...

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

Deconstruction of Falling Stars I don't like, because I find it too pessimistic. In the end, what B5 achieved didn't matter much. It didn't stop the great sacking of the Universe, and the backlash against science and technology. I'll grant you that the episode was decently crafted, especially...
