B5:TLT -- just the news. And we mean that.

Sorry everyone, OT again: There are three ways to do it on this forum: 1) Click the earth/link symbol, paste the url you want in the first box and type the text you want in the second. 2) Paste the link you want in the text box, select the blue bit and type the text you want on top of it. 3)...

B5:TLT -- just the news. And we mean that.

I'm aware this is a no comment thread, but just look at the title in my last post. I hate dirty urls (like the one you posted straight off the browser bar) with a passion and will edit them to proper links when I can.

Lost Tales boasts updated F/X This bit really intrigued me:

    Ari Ben Zayn in "Eyes"

I agree with all your reasons, Garibaldi could be a bit of a loose cannon at times, even around people he liked and trusted (Sinclair), so best to know as much as possible where he is and what he's doing, if you're someone he neither likes nor trusts.

    Is JMS a Scientologist?

But yeah, it's no wonder JMS gets mad if you call him a Scientologist.

    New official Babylon 5 Website...

Probably. The final episode, Sleeping In Light, does tell us the ultimate fate of the station. However, TLT was made with the idea in mind that most people who watch it have seen the whole series. I guess it also depends on how much of the story you already know from reading fan boards like...

    Is JMS a Scientologist?

No idea. However, B5 does have lots of references to different authors and worlds, so it may just be a reference to Hubbard's fiction (which I haven't read).

    New official Babylon 5 Website...

Admittedly Flash has its uses, but the B5 website gives no alternative to people who won't or can't (say from work) use it. Flash is perfectly fine for multimedia, but unnecessary for navigational menus, background animation, which I find horribly distracting anyway, etc.

    BSG is done

Me too. I like the fact that the producers got to decide when to call it a day, rather than having the network decide it for them. Especially a show like BSG which very clearly has a beginning, a middle and an end. As well as a lead-up to possibly a new beginning since "everything has happened...

    New official Babylon 5 Website...

I'm so glad I'm not on dialup, but that said, I think the flash-heavy websites suck big time. WB isn't the only one by any means, but it's one of the worst.

Pirates of the Carribean 3 (SPOILERS - moderate, for now)

Er... I seriously doubt I'll be renting this in the very near future. Maybe in 10 or 15 years, if it's still available somewhere.

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

Thanks for the clarifications. I guess it just seems that the Ripper had a problem with women selling sex in the streets. Possibly more prostitutes in Soho were working in brothels rather than in the street. The risk of getting caught would've been correspondingly higher. I may be wrong, but I'm...

Pirates of the Carribean 3 (SPOILERS - moderate, for now)

I saw it yesterday, and while the plot was a bit too convoluted, I still liked it better than the second. It's fun summer popcorn entertainment, but hardly a cinematic masterpiece. If you go see it, do stay for the scene at the end of the credits!

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

Was Soho the center of the London sex industry when Jack the Ripper was active as well?

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

Yeah, but that was fixed in later broadcasts, or at least some of them. The one I have definitely says East, although Sheridan's lips say West.

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

Ditto! I didn't mention that because I couldn't remember the name of the episode... Funny thing is, according to some Rick Biggs intended to become a doctor before opting for acting instead...

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

Helsinki syndrome? Oh yeah, as someone who lives in Helsinki, you bet I caught that. :p There were other errors too, for example when they talked about Jack the Ripper, Sheridan said he committed his crimes in West London. They had to re-loop it to reflect reality, i. e. that he did it in East...

    controversial sci-fi....

For hard sci-fi I'd agree with Bab5nutz on Fahrenheit 451. If "any genre" includes fantasy, I'd say Harry Potter fits the bill. Some right-wing Christians were rather incensed by the fact that the books show magic in a positive light.

    Sci-Fi Debate

Just because it's fantasy doesn't mean that it lacks internal logic. Take Pratchett's Discworld for example. It's complete and utter fantasy in that almost nothing from the world would work the same in our Universe, but it does have a set of internal rules you learn as you read the books. The...

New vote for worst episode ever: Between the Darkness and the Light

Yeah, it does. I guess my disappointment stems from the fact that I don't find Jack the Ripper a particularly interesting figure, even when it comes to mass murderers. Of course, he apparently did disappear without a trace, so maybe this is why they decided to use his name. I admit that the way...
