    What are You Watching?

Yep, the same for me, TOS re-runs on BBC on Wednesday nights I think, before Points of View. My mum would work late so my dad would allow me to stay up late to watch it. I remember watching the episode Arena when I was about five or six. I also went to the cinema to see The Voyage Home. So TOS...

    What are You Watching?

I liked parts of seasons 1 and 2 of Picard, but both had bad endings in my opinion and didn't really hold up overall. Season 3 was uniformly excellent (I know cynics will moan about it being nostalgic, but tough). I did like Discovery, though it veered between excellent and atrocious. I think...

Babylon 5 The Gathering Turned 30

It was meant to have been Takashima who would shoot Garibaldi in Chrysalis, and then her assistant, one Susan Ivanova, would take her place in season 2. The reasoning partially being Tamlyn Tomita had a burgeoning movie career and JMS didn't think they'd be able to keep her longer than one...

Babylon 5 The Gathering Turned 30

Special edition or original version? As I mentioned in the YouTube thread, I recently watched the special edition and it was so much better than I remembered, even Christopher Franke's music which felt a bit subdued and recycled, though I still feel he should have gone for a style closer to his...

    YouTube

They've definitely vanished for me. I looked on both Clipzone and Warner Bros. Clipzone does still have some clips from those episodes though. Maybe it's a regional thing?

    YouTube

Well that didn't last long... Warners changed their minds and took the episodes off YouTube. I wonder if the episodes were getting more views than expected - they were doing pretty well - and someone at WB decided they would rather all these people pay to watch it rather than give it away for...

Babylon 5 on VHS: A History

Another VHS oddity I found – a double set of volume 32 (Matters of Honour and Convictions) and the Making of Babylon 5 documentary. This is the only time the documentary was released on VHS, though we got it later on the season 1 DVD boxset. This is a WH Smith exclusive. HMV also had their own...

    Show off your B5 collectibles

If you ever find someone who could paint them, let me know! They've released more characters since I last posted, including a Shadow!

    YouTube

They've now uploaded Soul Hunter, and they've made it clearer on the channel that Warner Bros are involved. Now there's no excuse for people not to be able to watch the show - they just have to wait another 108 weeks for them to upload every episode! Adverts are the bane of my YouTube...

Babylon 5 on VHS: A History

Thanks! The (UK based) seller does have a full set of season 1 tapes from the USA, but they have been opened and it doesn't say anything on the packaging about trading cards and that link you provided says the cards were only in re-releases of the earlier seasons. The price is very low for them...

    YouTube

If you click on the Clipzone name beneath a video it says it is with two collaborators, including WB Entertainment. The YouTube algorithms are usually pretty strict in flagging copyright breaches, so given the two episodes are still up I'm assuming they have permission from WB. And their content...

    YouTube

There's two new YouTube channels posting B5 content. One is called ClipZone: Beyond Infinity and appears to be affiliated with Warner Bros, and so far they have posted The Gathering SE and Midnight on the Firing Line to watch in full: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl3Vf8heuOumLuC_toRYGXg The...

Babylon 5 on VHS: A History

I recently won these Skybox trading cards on eBay, which apparently came with some of the VHS sets in the US. Does anyone know which video sets they came with, and whether there were any more cards exclusive to the videos in the US?

    6ft Omega: A fan-art project

I think there does need to be a way at least for star furies that have entered the front docking bay to be transported to the launch bays in the hab section. I imagine this would be achieved through a central corridor and then some kind of moving platforms that cut down through to the ends of...

    EpDis: Soul Mates

Sorry for the necro-thread, but I was trying to make sense of the assassination attempt on Londo in this episode. So Mariel was trying to kill him, and bought the statue. Question: how did she know that the statue contained the booby trap? Stoner must have told her, but there's no indication...

    6ft Omega: A fan-art project

Very cool! I like the modifications - I figure that the Omegas wouldn't all be cookie-cutter, but have details that set them apart, a bit like how there were multiple different versions of the Miranda-class starship in Star Trek. Also pleased to see that you're reintroducing the fighter launch...

    Hi-Resolution Images

If anyone has access to high-res files, I'd be interested too. The best alternative I can think of is that you can buy photo prints online on eBay, 8x10 size, the kind of prints you get at convention signings, and scan the prints in to create a high-res tiff. Alternatively, if it doesn't have to...

    What are You Watching?

Unfortunately Foundation's second episode wasn't very good, full of all the tropes of modern TV that I dislike. Gone are the clarity of storytelling and awe-inspiring spectacle of the first episode. Instead there's mumbling and inaudible dialogue, flat and boring characters, a camera that won't...

    What are You Watching?

I've started watching Foundation. Just one episode in, and while I was unsure about it for the first 20 minutes when it all felt pretty derivative, it grew on me and by the end when the star bridge came crashing down, I was hooked. For context, I've read Asimov's books.

    Netflix acquires Warner Brothers

Maybe as a sequel, with JMS' blessing, there might be an opportunity for another creator. But a remake under someone else would be unconscionable to me. I haven't seen Andor, but I didn't like Rogue One.
