Has anyone else been following this series? I'm generally not much of a fan of modern adaptations of classics, but I've been greatly enjoying this show (if a 3-part miniseries can be called a "show" - am hoping for more, though. And with 1 1/2 episodes, having only 3 episodes isn't that bad)...

Angel's ending .. uh .. it's hard to say a thing about it without giving anything away. Let's just say the show ended on a bang, and the fanbase was massively split. Personally, I loved it.

Just in case you've given up on Angel, I'd really recommend watching season 5. It takes the show in a completely different direction from season 4, and is at times pretty damned cool in a "none of this makes sense" manner.

I never hated season 6 - I tought the overall seasonal arc was a bit daft, but I found it enjoyable enough. I didn't *hate* season 7, but I found it dreary and dull. Season 4 of Angel is the only Buffyverse season I truly disliked, IIRC.

I thought Angel was a terrible romantic interest ... but I still didn't like Riley. At first. Some upcoming developments made me appreciate him some more. I didn't really have much of a problem with the character, or the writing, or any of that. I just thought Marc Blucas was god-damned awful...

On topic: I absolutely loved The Lodger. I know it reminded a lot of people of Love and Monsters (which I did not hate nearly as much as others, either) but I thought 11 was truly at his best here - trying to be normal, but failing so very, very badly.

Killed by Death, along with S3's Gingerbread, had me reach my absolute high point in snotty-Europeanness. Horrible, horrible, horrible German. :D (except for Tony Head)
