Hello everyone

When I introduced myself I told people I was interested in creating a Babylon 5 Animated Series using Blender 3D. :)

Well here I am. Im looking for ideas and writer to help, and anyone for that matter. More animators, modellers, special FX (After Effects) would help loads :LOL:

Im also looking for ideas. Im not sure when it should be set, but I would like to set it on a starship this time (Victory Class Destroyer?). Hmm...
 
If you want your story to turn into complete insanity, I'll leave the thread here because insanity reigns in this forum. If you want it to have any chance of it making sense, I'll move it to another forum. ;)
 
Hahaha. Sorry I didn't know where else to post. If you dont mind, please move it to the best location on the board :)

However, I have been searching the net and found many B5 Models, I have imported them into Blender and I am trying to re-texture them. I'll also have to contact the artists and ask if I may use them
 
Hi guys, I made this Minbari image using Blender 3D. This is just a test render and will not be the final product. Just wanted to show you guys that Im working on this. I'll try to get in contact with the author of the mesh and see if I can use it fully. ;)

EDIT: The Jumpoint I made myself. It doesnt look alot like the series but that'll change soon. Any feedback would be nice :)

I'm moving this thread to the B5-related forum. It should get more exposure there and people can enjoy it more. I'll just have to pop in there more myself from time to time to see what you've done! ;)

Nice, I can handle those graphics :D

The Jump point actually isn't bad at all for a rough draft, it loks like it'll clean up and dimesionalize nicely.

The jump-gate is a work in-progress. Im just trying to figure out how to make it identical to the shows. When thats done I'll add a few meshes coming out of the jump point.

So, is anyone interested in helping with the project? :)
Any ideas how what the story could be about?
Or what the this fan film could be called?

I think it should be set during the 2270's (Near the Lost Tales Era). Im still thinking a story, all you writers give me ideas!!! :LOL:

I've always thought Animation would be the best format for the adventures of Lyta and G'Kar because of all the wondrous things they saw, and that the best stories to tell in Animation would be those containing so many wondrous things.

Pluses - It's barely been touched upon, so you could do pretty much anything, as the things they saw were alien even to the B5 universe.

Minuses - It's barely been touched upon, so how could you remain true, without at least some idea of what it looks like out there? And of course, with Andreas having passed on, you'd have to decide if it would be appropriate, I'm not sure JMS would believe so.

I'd also like to see some alternative universe stuff, such as S5 with Ivanova, instead of Lochley.

Might be fun to see an episode or arc set on Narn, before the bombings, or maybe exploring some of the planets of races who's planet's we've never seen. Some more exploration of Life forms in Hyperspace might be really cool too.

Some exploration of Delenn's lilfe between John's death and her appearance as an elderly woman in Deconstruction of Falling Stars.
 
Hmm...I dont think the story of G'Kar and Lyta would be appropriate.

I do however like the idea of exploration, and meeting new races and threats in a B5 fashion. :)

Like all stories it has to have a purpose. :)

I have an idea
-Set during the 2270's. We explore the downfall of Centurai Prime, Telepathic War (Which was in the 2260's), Interstellar Alliance's problems, Earth Alliance being recognized as a major force, exploration of new planets and races and life beyond the rim.

Thats the main idea at the moment, but Im still thinking of a story :)
 
Lyta may investigate a few of the Vorlon's mistakes.

A race who are so locked into rules that they can not change - since change is against the rules.
Or a race with no rules.
Some big monsters that are left around.
War can make you strong, it can also make you poor.

Building the new inter-space jump highway. Race want a jump gate. Second race does not want a jump gate. Third race that can not make up its mind. Corruption - lots of raw materials go into making a gate. Fourth race thinks that building a jump gate will allow it to invade its neighbour.
 
Speaking of Lyta discovering Vorlon mistakes...maybe there could be a connection to the aliens in Thirdspace.

Hmmm....what else could we include? And what would the story arc be about :cool:

Some nice ideas are starting to surface here...
 
Maybe you could write it where Kosh had some kind of personal involvement in the Vorlons contact with the Thirdspace aliens and his memory of the contact surfaces in Lyta's mind while she's off with G'Kar exploring the universe. ;) :LOL:
 
Sorry I haven't been on lately I have been working on another project, and once I have finished that, I shall work on this B5 fan film. :)
 
Hey guys and girls!

I am back, and ready to start work on this animation project once again. I think I'll start to model the ships one by one, I'll begin with the Hyperion Class.

Once again, any ideas towards this animated project are appreciated and any helpers to. ;)

I'll be showing some renders soon

The back is just about all done and detailed. Im working on the front now, just getting the basic shape.
