JMS and Z\'Ha\'Dum Defenses

Does anyone recall back when the episode "Z'Ha'Dum" aired in 1996 whether JMS addressed the question of how the White Star managed to penetrate the Shadows' city without being blown out of the sky by planetary defenses? The comment by G'Kar that the nuclear warheads are undetectable and Anna's comment about the Shadows' fear of Vorlon technology would seem to provide an answer. Or, were those comments just red herrings and JMS had the technomage plot already in mind at that point?

Um... just a little warning. JMS has traditionally not reacted too well to getting questions like this via email. A public forum would probably be better.

These days, the best place to post a question like this would probably be the Usenet moderated newsgroup. I think he has pretty much vanished from everyplace else, even from Compuserve...

Well, anyone can get access to the moderated group if they want to. The easist I know of is to go to Google Groups and sign up for an account there. Your post may take a while to post since the moderators have to review it first but you could always have KoshN or myself post the question for you.

Yes, but QM's question was whether that explaination came before the Techno-mage trilogy (i.e. from JMS) or if the explaination came from Ms. Cavelos. I don't recall if that question has ever been answered before.

That's ok! I don't think the process is terribly user friendly.

If you click on the "Post a new message to rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated" link you should see a place where you can log in. At the bottom of that page there is another link where you can Sign up for your account now

I don't remember the steps after that but I don't think it was too difficult. You just have to be patient when you actually get to a point where you can post a message since the newsgroup is moderated and it can take a while before Google Groups archives it as well.
