JMS is just a big ol' softie

JMS is just a big ol\' softie

Yes ladies and gentlemen, deep down JMS is just a big teddy bear.

For S5 I did commentaries on The Fall of Centauri Prime and Sleeping in Light.
The latter was the hardest, since it was the first time I'd seen the episode
since it aired. (I just couldn't, it was too hard.)

I should have done so, though, because when we got to B5's destruction, I'm
ashamed to admit that my voice broke, it just hit me so hard. After we were
done, i wanted to go back and do it again, to fix that, which I thought was
unprofessional, but the WB boys prevailed upon me to leave it alone. I just
hope it doesn't come across as dumb or something.

Re: JMS is just a big ol\' softie

I'm massively sentimental, not to mention emotional, so I'm sure I'll end up loving it.

Re: JMS is just a big ol\' softie

I'm looking forward to the next set even more now. :)

That episode is so hard to watch. Over the course of 5 (?) years I've only watched it a grand total of seven times.

I hope I can make it through jms' commentary.

I agree, SIL is very hard to watch. Ivanova's speech at the end makes me cry every time.

Re: JMS is just a big ol\' softie

I like SiL a lot, but it has never made me cry. Then again there isn't much that does. I just can't get all weepy over a television show, no matter how great. I certainly understand what it means to JMS though and can see how it is so sentimental for him.

Re: JMS is just a big ol\' softie

I almost cried when they blowed up the station along with Franke's music. It was just too emotional moment. Like the one in lotr when Theoden dies, and believe, I don't usually like to cry, but... *sob sob* :(

Almost everybody gets teary-eyed at many points during "Sleeping in Light," and "Objects at Rest" (e.g. the final salute in OaR). There are other points in B5 like that as well. For me:

"Interludes and Examinations" - Kosh speaking to Sheridan as his father in the dream through the sequence with Kosh's Transport committing suicide.

"Into the Fire" - Delenn riding in with the Minbari fleet and saving the day.

Can't remember which episodes it's in, but in Season 5 when Londo is shown sitting in the dark, in the throne room, and we see the tragic recap. of his life on B5.

"Into the Fire" - Delenn riding in with the Minbari fleet and saving the day.

Delenn does that in "Severed Dreams," not "Into The Fire." In ITF, she's already with Sheridan on board a Whitestar.

Oh crap. I can't believe I did that. Of course, it was Severed Dreams.
