LOST: Raised by Another Revisited *Spoilers*

Watched part of the rerun last night of Raised by Another, and thinking back about the reruns they showed this time around:

1. At the beginning of Special (The Walt/Mike episode), in the "Previously on LOST" segment, they showed up clips of Solitary (Danielle/Sayid episode) and clips of Raised by Another, and then Clips of All the Best Cowboys... The reruns have been strategically placed to bring folks up to speed who got on board late, or to remind older viewers of Plot Lines. The reruns this time were Solitary and Raised by Another.
2. Lots of folks believe that Ethan is Alex, and most can't be disuaded by the logic that William Mapother (Ethan) is 39 years old, and Mira Furlan is 49 years old, which if Ethan was Alex, would make Danielle a mother at 10 years old, if the characters are similar ages to the actors.
3. Watching Raised by Another, I gotta tell ya, Thomas (Claire's boyfriend that got her pregnant) looks an awful lot like he could be Mira Furlan's son.

So, if Alex is someone we hav met, I gotta say Thomas is my primary candidate. The name Alex was used and the line Alex was my child was used, to keep it ambiguous wether Alex was male or female, was that because Danielle didn't know, because Alex was stolen from her during childbirth (in which case, Alex would only be 16) or simply to keep us guessing?

If Alex was somewhere around 10, then Claire's Thomas would be about the right age. Maybe the Others found a way to get Alex off the island and sent him to get Claire Pregnant. That would explain why after 16 years on the island, Danielle would have to ask "Where's Alex"? Seems after all that time, and knowing the Others control her broadcast signal, that she would at least know where Alex was, if he was with the others.

Most can't be disuaded by the logic, probably because that statement isn't "logical" in the first place. You simply cannot use the age of actors/actoresses to relate to the age of the characters they play. They have no relation whatsoever.

Tell me, in B5, In the Begining, Claudia played Susan when she was 17...not in her mid 30s. Ya get me?

Actors constantly play characters that are different ages than they are. Mira and William look like they could fall into various ages. Mira could be playing Danielle who is 50, and perhaps William's Ethan Character is really onlt 25. I would have no trouble believing that Ethan is 25, in fact, I never would have guessed that the actor was really 39 in the first place.

Thats not for us to say or guess until the show tells us so. For now I guess the best and most common theory is that Ethan = Alex. But to be totally honest, that could be wrong. Easily wrong. There is a LOT this show hasn't shown us. But saying he isn't Alex because of the age of the actor isn't really the way to look at these sort of things...

Well, I personally can't possibly see Ethan as being younger than William Mapother, the man looks 40. In your example Susan was made to look younger. Also please note the part of what I said that you chopped off the quote, is "If the characters are similar ages to the actors"

On the whole Ethan thing, I find it funny that people always assume he's the one that wasn't on the plane mainfest because they mention it, then cut to him being menacing.

To this date, they've never said it's him have they? But becuase they cut to him people are led that way.
