Quoting smilies

Not sure if you want us to continue to start new threads or just add it to the list of problems thread but here goes.

If someone quotes text that has a smilie in it, the smilie shows up as html like this:

<img src="images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Of course, there is a way around it (select using HTML and UBBCode) but a lot of people wouldn't know how or are too lazy to change it.

Just something minor but maybe you didn't know about it yet.

It's from quoting old posts. Quoting new posts (those made on this new board) is fine, as you can see.

Then we can't fix it I'm afraid. It's because the old stuff was XHTML uncompliant.

Ah, well it happened recently so I thought it was a result of the new board software.

So, nevermind I guess.

Basically, everything is HTML in the board. Then when you reply or edit, it looks for certain code and converts it back to UBB code. However, as the HTML is different, it's not looking for the right combination. In this case, the new code has the XHTML-compliant closing / in the code. The old one doesn't.
