    The Original Battlestar Galactica

Back then #26 was pretty bad. And summer ratings mean nothing unfortunately. It was simply too expensive for a show that couldn't maintain the premier ratings. It has more to do with the writers being rushed by the network and them cranking out half ass ripoffs of movies in lots of episodes.

    The Original Battlestar Galactica

Besides the massive costs and drop in ratings?

    Star Wars: Episodes VII-IX

I'm interested but not overly so. I get the impression they are ignoring the extended universe stuff like the books and comics. That's perfectly fine with me, although I wouldn't mind them paying homage to some of that stuff, like the Zahn novels.

    The Walking Dead

I read the comics after season 2. I wasn't happy with where they left off with the Governor in the TV series. I think it was a cost cutting thing to remain in the prison. But the good thing is that comic readers will have no idea where next season goes.

    The Hobbit (& its sequel)

I thought the movie was incredibly disappointing. Everything in goblin town was just wrong. What they did to Radagast was almost as bad as Jar Jar. Seriously. I also wasn't really happy with the casting of Bilbo. It felt at least a half hour too long imo. But I've felt that was an issue...

Babylon 5: Ten Lost Tales that Sholud Be Found

Game of Thrones has a lot less SFX than B5 would need. But GoT has much higher location costs to deal with. Game of Thrones is a bit of an aberration as it has strong interpersonal relationships and amazing dialogue for genre programming. B5 is plot top heavy and would need serious rework in...

Babylon 5: Ten Lost Tales that Sholud Be Found

You mean more B5 made by JMS. Eventually WB will tap that property again. Right now they know they won't have fan support without JMS. I'm curious what the distribution/production method was going to be for the B5 reboot. Was it going to be a Netflix series? All I remember hearing was that...

I'm going by what he said but it's not worth the effort to dig out the quote.

    Aborted Reboot

I haven't heard anything about how they were lost. All I will say is that there are very few Kickstarter campaigns I'd support. One would be to have the people that did BSG effects to redo them for one episode of B5 as a proof of concept.

Then explain why he brought her back for Crusade and the Lost Tales? He honestly convinced himself she was a good character and actress. He did not need to write her into either of those.

    Aborted Reboot

The hint of something good in LOTR was the premise of them going to a strange universe. The dialogue and casting was the worst I've seen with something connected to JMS though. There wasn't a big cry for Crusade to return honestly. SciFi likely said we don't want a continuation of Crusade, we...

    Aborted Reboot

JMS also claimed that if he knew that there would be a season 5, season 4 would end around "intersections in real time". And so most of Season 5 would have remained as is. Cut out Gaimans episode, the horrible one following the two maintenance workers and "The Deconstruction of Falling Stars"...

    Aborted Reboot

I provided the proper caveats. I said if the review is accurate, then I'm fine with someone else taking over the universe. Guess what, the review was accurate and I stand by that statement. I still held out hope that LOTR would right the ship. The scene that was lambasted in the review was...

    JMS' Viewing Order

Interesting. I have a feeling I'll be doing a series rewatch by Christmas, at least of the major arc related episodes. I always thought that I'd watch "in the Beginning" right after Atonement as I believe that's the last regular season episode to reveal everything that ITB spoils. Watching it...

    Aborted Reboot

Well I stated that in the moderated newsgroup after reading an early review of LOTR. I stated if it was as bad as the review indicated, that I wouldn't be against someone else taking over. He responded in a pissy way but it turned out the review was 100% fair and I still believe he isn't the...

    Season 5: List of grievances

Too many to list them all. Tracy Scoggins is a bad actress and played a boring character. Byron and the telepaths was a HUGE mistake. The arcs weren't particularly compelling except part of the Drakh/Centauri arc. It was like I was watching a show written by someone else.

    Create Your Own B5....And Save!

Shorter seasons and almost all episodes strongly arc related. Better dialogue and humor. Also a better resolution to the shadow war.

    Aborted Reboot

Apparently Byron was supposed to be matched with Ivanova. Something along the lines of making up for her mistakes with Marcus. I don't think the story would have been much better with that kind of twist. The telepaths around Byron played like True Blood vampires or something. It was just a...

    Worst Acting Performance

Jinxo comes to mind as does Major Krantz and the second Draal who seemed to ham it up big time. Mary Kay Adams and the guy that played Lt. Keffer were horrid. Russ Tamblyn as Captain Jack Maynard was very disappointing. Tracy Scoggins is my least favorite regular by far though.

    Aborted Reboot

I'm sorry but you can't blame Sci-Fi for LOTR. They didn't write the script, cast the actors or come up with that laughable combat system the woman was using. There was a hint of something great, and a series with recasting could have fixed a lot of it. But the night it aired I switched...
