Adios Futurama

I'm pretty sure it would have been much bigger news if they really did reverse their decision.

Futurama has actually been out of production for over a year now. It was actually cancelled last year, but the episodes were already complete, so they went ahead and aired them - whenever it was convenient for them.

Yes, I think I heard something about that. It's a shame. I mean, who couldn't just love the character "Bender".

I loved this show and am snatching up all the DVD releases.

The episode on the central bureaucracy was awesome.

I LOVED the one where Dr Zoidberg had to go back home to mate:

"Ask her how her day was"
"Why do I care?"
"Girls like that stuff, just do it"
"OK"
......
"Now she wont shut up"

Damn that show was great. :)

I don't think I've seen either of those episodes, but I eventually will on the repeats I am sure. I had a terrible time remembering the show was on, actually. I only started watching it regularly this summer.

6pm on Sunday just wasn't a good time slot for me, somehow. Just a bit too early I suppose. I'd usually not turn on the tv until 7pm.

I gather it was not renewed due to the cost in animating the episodes? :(

I try to catch as many of the repeats as possible. Futurama is on Mon-Fri on The Cartoon Network, right after The Family Guy. 11pm Pacific, 8pm Eastern I think.

Two things:

1) Cartoon Network must have West Coast feed, because Futurama is on 11:00 in the East as well.

2) The 3 hour shift between the coasts is in the other direction. 11:00 PM in the West is 2:00 AM in the East.

I never found this show as funny as some. There were some great moments here and there, but usually it was just "eh."

I'm still kinda pissed it's gone, just because so many of my fellow nerd friends are into it.

There were two episodes that I found really funny. One was all about old-school video games, where Fry had to play space invaders to save the world.

This quote isn't exact, but it sure describes my life in high school:
"It's Saturday night; I have no date; and I got my all-Rush mix tape. Let's roll!"

Even better was the episode that featured voices of Trek actors.

LOL..oopps sorry..I really gotta double check my posts before hittin that little button. I have it on satellite and everything on it is from the east coast so everything is 3 hours early. So this is what lack of sleep does to the mind? :p
