I see where you're coming from, but to me remaking a relatively recent movie or TV-show (i.e. less than about 20 years old) means that there was something inherently wrong with the original. A remake can work if it's sufficiently different to attract a completely new audience (as happened with BSG - most viewers of the new one have never seen the original), or a sufficiently long time since the original was made (King Kong comes to mind) has passed that makes it worth while. I see no point in remaking The Hulk, only 5 years after the last try.
