I think... I really liked Braga's work when I was a kid watching TNG (though I didn't know it was him until I got older).
I think the beginning of the end, for me, at least, was the episode where Paris hit Warp 10, "evolved", and he and Janeway turned into salamanders and had kids.
There's science fiction, and then there's ludicrousness.
