I always was interesed in the term beyond the rim. I assume it simply meant the edge of our galaxy but it does seam to have some type of broader context.
It always seemed deeper then just leaving the milky way behind and any race or one who did never returned, surely some of the first ones may of travelled to other galaxys.
Also getting in to that dirty word of sci fi...logic, it would take years or decades in hyperspace to reach another galaxy.
And for the big finish where beyond the rim did Sheridan and Lorien go?
