Lost: Whatever The Case May Be (Spoilers)

I too wondered if Boone was gay. This may just be wishful thinking, I love thinking of Ian Somerhalder liking guys. :)

If she was just being insulting, wouldn't she say "Is he your boyfriend?" Rather than new boyfriend. Although that's very tenuous theory.

I hope he is. I liked it when he was gay in Rules of Attraction, because he did it in a nice way rather than the usual stereotypes.

But as to Lost in general... is anyone like me getting bored? My interest is waning quite quickly.

I love mystery. And I love back story. But Lost is largely just that, and I feel my brain needs more in the current day. Because really, if you take this episode we've had arguing over a box and a little plane got out. To me, that isn't enough. And as Dr. Evil would say, "throw me a frigging bone here".

Ultimately, I love to be kept guessing. But I do need somehting to happen, to feel we're moving this story forward.

I think the floodgates will start opening in the 3 or episodes. Ethan/Claire, I think is about 4 episodes away, and Danielle will probably return then, or maybe the episode before.

I actually saw the New boyfriend comment in reverse. I would think if she was serious, rather than juvenile humor, that she would've emphasized the word "New" more.

Boone/Shannon is next, with a connection to another island character (if you've seen the promo pictures you know who). And then Walt/Michael the following week.

I'm not tired of it, but little things are irritating me, such as this one. Making a big deal out of hiding the fact that you wanted a ITTY BITTY PLANE out of the case is highly annoying. Unless there was something else in there that we haven't seen. She could have just let Sawyer have it and when it was opened, keep the plane. She could also have been trying to keep the guns/ammo away from him. Hard to say what her purpose was.

Rose. I was hoping she didn't spout off the classic black churchlady "I can't help you...HE can." Charlie needed a bit hug and a "go ahead and let it all out" moment.

I don't think Danielle is crazy either. And since she kept asking about Alex, I'm wondering if we run into her son at some point.

Boone would indeed be the perfect gayboy. ;) I was having a conversation with a friend about hooking up. They've been there for a while now. Some of these people should be nearly bubbling over with some lust. I wonder who will be the first...couple?

I really liked this episode. I thought Sawyer was great in this episode, made some of his lines pretty funny.

I also liked Kate's back-story alot, lots of plot twists. From what I can recall, all we knew about Kate's backstory before this was that she was in custody on the plane, with no real idea as to why. When her backstory first began, I thought maybe she started the bank robbery as an innocent bystandard and would screw something up that led to her being incarcerated. When the gun came to her I figured she was going to shoot and miss and hit the guy who had attacked the robber or something. Then the first twist came, and later the second. And then from what she says about the mini-plane at the end, she was arrested for something not even related to that bank robbery.

To touch on a few of the things mentioned in this thread:

-I actually kinda liked the Kate-Sawyer interaction in this episode. Again I thought Sawyer was pretty funny in it.

-I don't think the French song has any hidden meaning, just to show that Mira's character is mad. Kind of one of those things where "we might be on to something here, no wait she's just insane" type thing where a possible solution seems to be brewing only to turn out to be nothing.

-Lastly, I don't think the mini-plane has any deeper role to play than just being a symbol of Kate's crime. She said it belonged the man she killed, I don't think there's much more to it than that. Kind of a sentimental type thing like Sawyer's letter has become to him at this point. It's not like they're gonna find out that if you add water to it it inflates into a full-size plane which they can use to fly off the island ;).

Personally, I didn't find it twisty. As soon as she was in the bank robbery, I said to the people I was watching it with: "I think she's in with it. Either that, or she just takes advantage and grabs some cash". I was right on the former.

The whole plane thing I felt was mystery for mystery sake. What a load of priangle... almost a let down.

Then they drop the murder thing in, as yet more "Oooh, mystery".

I think they need to be careful, or it'll just become this clique thing. Where the writers are constantly flaunting that they know things and we don't. People like mystery, for a while. But there may come a day, when we've had another episode where we've been teased but not told much, where people will just give up.

This is why I think they need to start giving some stuff to the viewers pronto.

Careful Markas, we don't know Alex is Danielle's son, we only know Alex is her child (Alex could be a female child).

Regarding the plane belonging to "The man Kate loved", I think that man is her father, and she was somehow ressponsible for her father dying.
