As for the possible story arc JMS is being very quite. From past experience this means we should be watching our backs, he's probably sneaking up to wack us over the head.
I wouldn't be too concerened about the lack of announcement, it's almost always better to leave options open unless you have to make a decision. Unless the movie is 90 minutes of aliens playing tiddely winks I think we'll get a series.
