Yes, TNT's desire to differentiate the two shows dates back to the earliest discussions, when JMS was still dealing mostly with B5 fans who worked at the network's Los Angeles office. And it is by no means something he totally disagreed with. He replaced Christopher Franke as composer and John Flinn as director of photography precisely to give the new show its own sound and look. Later TNT went completely nuts with the idea, but it wasn't a whole new attitude, just a grotesque exaggeration of an existing one.

And the show was announced under three different titles, at various times:

The Babylon Project: Crusade
Crusade: The Babylon Project
and, finally,
Crusade

You can find JMS posts using all three.

Actually, that might not be such a bad thing, since First Wave was starting to catch up with Crusade in the polling!

Hold that thought, whitestar90. Once "Rangers" the movie is aired, it probably won't hurt to send a massive wave of letters to the Sci-Fi Channel that say "WE WANT MORE!"

I figure every little bit of support we can give to "Rangers" will only help revive "Crusade" in one way,shape,or form.

I have heard that the letter writing campaign didn't hurt efforts, either, as well as the emails. Letter-writing is supposed to be the best. I'm probably going to wait until B5LR comes out to write any more letters to Bonnie Hammer, though.

I just dont' see how it can hurt.

GideonsMine, I take it you have written a general B5LR support letter, then. I thought it was best to put in something specific or personal (like: "I thought the Tirk character was wonderful" or something) when letter writing. Of course, I've heard several theories, so now I have enough information to confuse myself.

I have heard pretty consistently though that: a) hate mail is automatically thrown out.
b) mention what demographic group you are in (sex, age, whatever)


Any other letter writing tips you'd give me? Forget the "blue ink" thing, I'll use my computer and not write letters by hand.

I believe the Crusade for Crusade page had some model letters and or tips for letters to both the network and sponsors. You might find something adaptible there.
