LOL!
Finished? It's barely
started. (Production began on May 14th, to be exact.) They won't finish principle photography until sometime in June, and post production will almost certainly take them into late August or early September. So they won't have anything to make a trailer
from until at least that late.
When such a trailer (more properly, "promo" since this is a TV movie and not a theatrical film) will air depends on when the movie does. I've heard
rumors that October 2001 and January 2002 are among the dates that Sci-Fi is tossing around, but anything they're doing now is strictly preliminary planning. If there is no actors' strike and if they give Warner Bros. an order for the series based on the rough-cut of the film, they may decide to hold it until closer to the series premier date. There's no law that says they have to air the thing as soon as it is ready, or even this year.
Presumably we'll see the promos starting a couple of weeks before the movie airs - whenever that
is. (And unless Sci-Fi makes it available as a download on thier website, I'm not entirely sure how Diego is going to get a copy. Is TV in Brazil NTSC or PAL?)
And personally, I don't think we'll see
Exaclibur in
Rangers much. If
Rangers does well enough to make it to season 3 I think the odds are that Sci-Fi will commission a second series from JMS and we'll see
Exaclibur where it belongs - on
Crusade. (Of course, if that happens I wouldn't rule out the odd cross-over.
)
Regards,
Joe
