actually joe i think its more a case of WHV UK doing very little promo work for the box set rather than an attempt by play to undercut their opposition. most UK based sites seem to suggest that the RRP is £64.99 with various savings then offered. play, however, are selling for £39.99 based on...

huh... ya know i'd not noticed that before but you're right, none of the R2 retailers are actually mentioning the special features, or even screen format. but i'd imagine it very unlikely that after working on a box set for R1 they'd then spend time creating a different (and inferior) box set...

why wait for a R1 box set from play.com? the R2 box set is released nearly a month earlier (14/10/02)!

'dead zone' is a new show on USA network, airing sunday evenings. based (loosely) on the stephen king novel. its premiere broke cable records for ratings, and i believe the second episode also did very well... now apparently the sci-fi channel get it (about three/four weeks later) to show, no...

actually i think he referred to the 'crusade' sets being packed and stacked by WB - indicating that the show wasn't quite dead. i don't believe jms ever suggested that the B5 sets were kept, after all there's no plan/story left to tell with those sets following the successful 5 year story.
