HEROES / VILIANS (Spoilers Welcome)

He was one of the characters the creator of the show felt embarrassed by by the end of the season, I guess. And thus he, like Monica (whom I actually really liked) get to be pretended to not have ever existed. Meanwhile Maya's whining self is still running around.

So, Micah's cousin isn't coming back? WTF? She was badass.

...What is even WORSE in my opinion, if when they did kill off characters, such as Isaac Mendez, they bring in a new character a season or so later that can do the EXACT SAME THING (the dude in the desert with Parkman). Boring and repetitive. Or, they bring in the same actress who looks like a dead character but isn't and she turns out to be some sort of *yawn* clone or some shit. Again, boring and a waste of time.

I was instantly disappointed when this first started happening with last season having Adam have Claire's regeneration and Claire's boyfriend having Nathan's flying. And I have reacted the exact same way that you have to them having killed Isaac and then bring in Africa Man. It makes me feel like they suddenly lost all their creativity to be repeating so easily and willingly.

Yes she was definitely one of the more interesting characters and they seemed to be going somewhere with the whole Saint Joan thing. Iwas looking forward to seeing her again too.

They have literally lost the plot!

So how are they going to deal with this then... is Micah suddenly living alone now!!?!?!?!!?

Regarding Caitlin, they could write it such that she's still in the future. That her having been taken into the future by Peter and her remaining there some how shielded her from any changes in the future that occur as a result of Peter having destroyed the virus. So, she's there and all of a sudden the world is completely different but she's left there fully knowing and remembering everything as it was.

I assume he's living with Nichelle Nichols. All last season with her in the story doing absolutely nothing, I kept assuming she'd be having a bigger character presence later, maybe being another older person with a power like Hiro's father and mama Patrelli. But the writers just totally wasted her. If Monica's still alive, I assume Micah will still be with her too since she was living with Grandma Nichols.

I wouldn't "mind" that resolution but in my opinion it's a bit too heavy-handed with the magic wand. I can't see how the science would track in order to achieve that.

Micah's cousin who had super muscle memory -- she could do any physical motion that she saw someone else do. She was given an ipod full of videos to learn from by Bob (Mr Midas). Last was seen of her was at the end of last season when she had been captured trying to get something of Micah's back from some thugs; it was in that building that Niki died saving Monica.

Oh, right, her. She was an alright character. Quite the li'l cutie pie, anyway.

Also, is Kristen Bell dead? Don't remember.

I think you guys are not giving the writers enough credit. With all the logic gone, they can do anything they want and you won't be able to argue it's not "consistent" or "rational" or whatever. Brilliant!

I'm a bit disappointed no one here still really loves the show and wants to defend or explain these plot points- I'm curious to see if that can be done, because honestly I don't pay close enough attention to it for this particular show to be able to try.

Oh I do like the programme still...solely on the basis of escapism. I'm not going to give up on it... I just won't take it too seriously.

I'm more worried about an article I read in Starburst which suggests the executives are starting to try and interfere with the creative process on Pushing Daisies...

Nope, she's still alive. She's been sidelined by mama Patrelli though in her taking over the company after Elle's father was killed by Sylar.

For me, the show is kind of like popcorn. It's not a meal and after eating it my stomach hurts, but I still eat it. I'm not giving up on the show, but I wouldn't consider myself a big ol' fan of the show either.

I have this problem where once I start something I have to finish it. The only major piece of entertainment I can remember quitting was Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, but books are a lot more of a time investment than 44 minutes of TV a week.

this week i was pepped up a bit, by the pace of the episode, if not necessarily the content, but it pleases me none the less.

I normally agree. But what it comes down to, is that there is a finite amount of time I am willing to spend watching TV, and there are much better shows on, so when shows like Heroes start to go down the drain, they get dumped for something better. I won't keep watching TV shows and wasting my time with them if they don't entertain me anymore.

Oh I agree, except for I don't really have that much to watch this season. Football and The Daily Show/Colbert is pretty much my TV viewing. The only show I care about is The Shield's final season, but I haven't started watching it yet, and The Office, which is like 20 minutes w/o commercials anyway. So until I catch up to The Shield and Lost comes back, I don't have that serial drama/action show I look forward to every week anymore.

I think I enjoyed last night's episode the best out of all the episodes so far this season. I anticipated vortex man killing himself with his power long before it happened. And I've been anticipating Papa Patrelli being not dead since the first season. Here's one complaint I have about the episode though: what's up with Sylar standing off at the car watching HRG try to get vortex man to kill Sylar? They presented it as Sylar was suspicious and just figured out what HRG was trying to do. But the reality is that Sylar should have been able to fully hear HRG's conversation from standing over there at the car since he took the super hearing power from that mechanic woman in season one. Also, I'm not sure what I think about Hiro stabbing Ando.

Hiro will go back in time to save Ando, or already did and set it up to "look" like he killed Ando. Hiro would never kill Ando, imho.

The episode was . . . meh.

Mohinder used to be a cool-ass character (given the fact that he was not a hero,) and now that whole storyline is just stupid. He's what? A spider? And Maya being so afraid of him and suddenly getting tacked up to the wall w/o using her powers? She's a frackin' idiot.

I used to love the dynamic between Mr. Bennett and Claire. Now, it feels forced. Claire in general bugs the caca out of me now. Even though Adam has the same power (at least in general,) he's far more interesting a character.

Where had Matt's father been this whole time? I forgot what happened to him last season. Now he's back and creating illusions for people--pulling the strings.

Speaking of strings, who is puppet guy. Creepy as hell. Why do I have the feeling that we'll never see Claire's mom again because the writers will forget she's there?

Tracy is interesting, but why were the triplets called: Nikki, Tracy and Donna or whatever the other girl's name was (it wasn't Jessica?) Does that just give the writers another option to kill Tracy off and bring back yet another version of Ali Larter because she's too hot to kill off?

I still wish they'd find a way to bring Eden back from season 1. She rocked. So did Claude. And what about Simone's father from Peter's dream? Sorry, I know I keep harping on long-gone characters that are obviously sucked away into black-hold vortexes never to return.

Peter almost killing his mom was awesome. It was a sick, sick, twisted moment and very well done, imho.

I dunno . . . I'm just getting over Heroes really fast. They're focusing on all this uninteresting stuff now and ignoring good material. Someone needs to kick the creator in the junk for some of this. I'm not too happy.

I've never been into Mohinder like a lot of other viewers have been, but yeah, I've gone from tolerating him to really wishing he wasn't on the show anymore. And yeah, Maya's an idiot; she has been since her introduction on the show, if you ask me.

I used to love the dynamic between Mr. Bennett and Claire. Now, it feels forced. Claire in general bugs the caca out of me now....

Strangely for me, this was the first episode this season that I haven't been absolutely annoyed by Claire's presence in the episode. Up to this point in the story, events of the moment haven't really given her much of an opportunity to just sit and talk to another powered person about discovering that they had powers. So her sympathizing with vortex man made appropriate sense to me.

Where had Matt's father been this whole time? I forgot what happened to him last season. Now he's back and creating illusions for people--pulling the strings.

If I remember correctly, Matt trapped his father inside his father's own nightmare last season. Who knows how he escaped.

Speaking of strings, who is puppet guy. Creepy as hell. Why do I have the feeling that we'll never see Claire's mom again because the writers will forget she's there?

Puppet guy is a new character they're introducing. For as much as they've said they learned from having poorly introduced a bunch of new characters last season, they're introducing a lot of new characters this season. The previews from next week has a lot going on with puppet guy involving both Claire's mother and her stepmother, so she'll be around at least another episode.

Tracy is interesting, but why were the triplets called: Nikki, Tracy and Donna or whatever the other girl's name was (it wasn't Jessica?) Does that just give the writers another option to kill Tracy off and bring back yet another version of Ali Larter because she's too hot to kill off?

Barbara was the third one. So, I guess Jessica was someone else that Niki wasn't actually related to but grew up thinking was her sister? Or did Niki, Tracy, and Barbara all belong to Niki and Jessica's parents and it was Tracy and Barbara that got split up? Who knows if even the writers truly know where they're going with it.

I still wish they'd find a way to bring Eden back from season 1. She rocked. So did Claude. And what about Simone's father from Peter's dream? Sorry, I know I keep harping on long-gone characters that are obviously sucked away into black-hold vortexes never to return.

I'm right there with you on all three. The showrunners have said that both Sylar and HRG weren't originally going to be long term characters, but that they changed things to keep them around. Eden, Claude, and Simone's father are far more interesting to me than Nathan, Claire, and Hiro at this point. I had long assumed that dreaming was Simone's father's power and that Peter had copied it from him until they had dreaming be Mama Patrelli's power (especially considering that last season they made her power seem like it would end up being telepathy given how she reacted to Matt in one scene).

Bubbles!

Another actor from The Wire gets a nice pay-day and chunk of prime-time exposure. Certainly playing the most sympathetic, complex street junkie in the history of television must be infinitely more rewarding professionally than zapping black holes at people, but I like seeing some of these guys finding lucrative work.

I don't even remember an Eden and whatever else you guys are talking about there.

I can understand wanting to do something completely different with Suresh. His original role on the show is done- chasing his father's work, etc. The show is trying to move past having a few superheros figuring out what's going on to an all-out struggle, like the difference between the first X-Men movie and the sequels. But the spider thing is silly and one of those subplots I don't care about. Also, with Simone dead and Suresh spider-thing, there are now no major non-superhero characters, which is odd, as fantasy stories generally have at least one "normal" character to provide balance and perspective, someone we can relate to.

Maya- sure she's silly, but with Kristen Bell out of commission, she's the hottest chick on the show. Now with her in the Chrysalis, do I have to start caring about Nikki/Jessica/Barbara/whatever in order to get my cheap thrills?
