Martel's ISA Classified Transmission

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Yes, thank you, Lyta. If you hear of any more, we'd love for you to post them! *wide grin*

I'm already speculating.

Which is a very good sign!

I did not see that. I wish I had. I get excited when I see any advertisement on TV for the Ranger movie.

Lorien: Who are you?
RW: The salad man.
Lorien: Why are you here?
RW: To be the salad ambassador.
Lorien: What do you want?
RW: Everyone to know the joys of salad.
Lorien: Do you have anything worth living for?
RW: Yes, my salad bars.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

One of the "features" they are building into the Tivo type digital recorders (Tivo is only one brand, there is at least one more), is software that is supposed to monitor your viewing habits and "suggest" other shows that you might like.

That's probably what accounts for the "strange behavior".
It's trying to suggest an Alternative to B5.
Nobody said it was GOOD software.
Except the manufacturer, of course, and they are a bit biased.
wink.gif

Dumb idea, particularly if it's got any built in ability for the TV people to "push" suggestions to your unit.
It becomes another form of "pop up" advertising.

Dulann's Interstellar Alliance Classified Transmission

[camera on Dulann, looking serene]

Reporter: How do you feel about your Captain retreating from a combat zone?

[camera switches to Dulann and Martel on the Liandra?]

Martel: We live for the one, we die for the one.

Martel: But we don't die stupidly.

[camera back on Dulann in the intereview, voices from the Liandra fading]

Dulann: The emphasis in our culture seems have been on -dying- for the one. I believe with David's choice to -live- for the one, that emphasis is now shifting.

Dulann: I believe we did what we could ...

Kitaro Sasaki's ISA Classified Transmission

[camera on Kitaro, looking serious]

Reporter: Tell us about your Captain.

Kitaro: He's very courageous -- extremely confident -- he's a warrior, a true Ranger.

Reporter: Did he flee a combat zone because he was scared?

Kitaro: No, I don't think he would ever.

Reporter: Was the council justified in taking away his command?

Kitaro: No comment. [said with slight smirk on his face]

[end transmission]

PS: Hope you guys are enjoying reading these ...

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Ooo! That's a different one than the interview on the Internet!

Thanks, Lyta. You're great. Without you, I'd be missing this stuff entirely.

Oh! I didn't even check if it was the same as the transmission on SciFi's web site.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Well, that saved you some time, since it is indeed another transmission. Thanks again!

I wonder if there are several of those for all characters. Wow, in any case. And it would seem that those are not scenes from the movie but clips filmed and made just for advertising?

Martel Transmission #3

[camera on Martel, looking down]

Reporter: Tell us about the mission, Captain.

Martel: Well, we were supposed to just ... provide escort, to the Valen.

Martel: And, without getting into elaborate details, the mission went bad.

Martel: And ... some people lost their lives.

Martel: We did what we could, we saved some.

Martel: And in the end, I guess that mission is not quite yet over.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Let's hope that this isn't the end of the mission.

Well, either way, the story of the Liandra is going on, and on, and on - in someone's head. It's there. It's not the end of the mission.

It's just the end of the stuff we get to see.

Cantrell's Transmission #1

[camera on Cantrell, looking down and then she looks up as soon as she starts speaking]

Reporter: Why did you join the Rangers?

Cantrell: I believe it was because ... I basically live to serve and I serve to live.

Reporter: Tell us about your Captain.

Cantrell: Well, he is a ... [Martel says "we don't die stupidly" in the background] leader, he's very bright.

Reporter: Are you emotionally involved with your Captain?

Cantrell: I don't really think that is anybody's business actually.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

I said about three months ago they would be 'shipper fodder. My fairy godmother always said I had a gift for prophecy.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Oh, come on, Channe - the gorgeous Captain and the beautiful weapons specialist - you don really have to be prophetic to figure out that the poor things are going to be 'shipper fodder, do you?

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Saw it coming a mile away, Kribu darling.

Of course, Rangers could always engage in a bit of cycle-breaking. After all, for the second and third seasons of Babylon 5 a newbie I introduced to the show was totally, completely, and utterly convinced that Sheridan and Ivanova would get involved with one another (until, of course, the shan'fal thing).

Ahh, either way. I'm not a 'shipper of any sort, so it's all good.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

I didn't really care about any of the romantic relationships in B5 - I think the Londo and Adira tragic love story was the only one that actually moved me.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Come on, every relationship was tragic on Babylon 5, save John and Delenn. Tragedy was the order of the day.

And I found John and Delenn far too cutesy at times. I'm all about the angst.

I am definitely NOT a 'shipper. Yet.

Farscape is doing very well to convert me.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Ah, but every other relationship, tragic or not, had to do with humans. I didn't care much about the humans of B5 (although that may well change with B5RL!).
lol.gif

Yeah, I know I'm weird.

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

How You Know Channe Needs To Stop Working And Go To Sleep: when she misinterprets Kribu's typo ('B5RL') as B5: The Real World (This is the story of... seven Rangers... picked to live in a haunted ship...)

I like the humans. They're nice and flawed (as are the relationships...)

Re: Martel\'s ISA Classified Transmission

Oh dear... *groans* I've managed to make typos in most of my posts today. And I don't usually have to worry about them. I guess I'm still half-asleep!
lol.gif

As for the humans being flawed and everything... well, so were the aliens. Except for G'Kar... he was perfect.
blush.gif
No, wait, he wasn't. Hmm.
