Scif and fantasy's funniest moments some intentionall and some not

Voyage to the Bottom of the sea, i love this series which started outas a B grade scif series and gradually morphed into a sit com of a series but it was entertaining right to the end. Seaview was a very unlucky sub, suffered a significant number of whale attacks, Irwin Allen also had a habit of re using the same Monster over and over again, and depending upon the story requirements, that same monster could be anywhere from man sized all the way up to Godzilla sized. The most popular Guest star monster was old doubleheader, he was in so many episodes, It seems that he was practically a regular cast member on the show, He also did guest appearances on Lost in space as well. he was a real fan favorite Im not sure but i think he has a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. This series the sub was menaced from everything from Aliens, Lobster men, Walking Rocks, to a bunch of menacing children's toys, and Allen re used footage from his lost world movie on an episode was mostly a one hour version of his lost world movie thats how much footage ans story that he recycled. :guffaw::guffaw::rommie::evil::drool::eek::rolleyes::):bolian::borg:

Joel Hodgson is back with many of his old friends, check out cinematic titanic or google him.
Also Mike Nelson riffing site

Speaking of Shatner I though he was actually hilarious in Airplane 2, He was really over the top as the moonbase commander, Remember when he looked through the view finder and say the Enterprise and shook his head in confusion?

Gkars Eye the tread is funny Moments in scif and Fantasy, both funny good and Funny bad, meaning in great movies and bad movies this also includes televisiion shows past and present and Animated scif and fantasy CGI animae as well.

For example Irwin Allens Movie the lost worldin stead of using Stop motion animated dinosaurs took aligators and Monitor Lizards and Igannas and Glued Horns on them. The move is travesty of Conan Doyles Book but Its still a funny as hell to watch. It had an all star cast, pretty much.

Star Wreck (Fuckoov!).

Futurama, I am surprised this was not mentioned earlier.

Not so much Sci-Fi but fantasy: Life on Mars.

I almost forgot Troma films other great schlocktackular movies, who can forget the mighty TOXIC AVENGER ? or Sargent Kabuki Man or Surf Nazis Must die. :guffaw::cool:

One of my favorite moments ever was in Star Trek IV when they are racing to get Chekov out of the hospital and you hear the old woman say: "The doctor gave me a pill, and I grew a new kidney."

Or my other favorite quote from Star Trek IV, after Chekov is captured on the Enterprise and is being interrogated....
1st Guy, "He's a Rooski."
2nd Guy, "I know he's a Rooski but he must be retarded or something."

GKE got to it before I did, but I was also going to mention Galaxy Quest. It's just hilarious all the way through.
I remember listening to commentary on one of the episodes of Farscape and the cast just kept quoting lines from Galaxy Quest as they were talking about the episode.

Ive been recommending Free Enterprise to people for years..Shatner looking at porn..priceless.

Hercules the legendary Journey's the Episode Men in Pink when Atalacus and Salmonius had to disguise themselves as women and hide out in a theater to escape some very bad men.

Star Wreck has a lot of funny moments, although some are impossible to appreciate unless you're a Finn or have spent time here. Knowing the original language helps, too. :p

Space Balls is hilarious, and Galaxy Quest isn't far behind.

There's also a little treasure of a fan movie called Hardware Wars. You'll never look at small home appliances in the same way again.

Hardware Wars! An absolute classic. My father saw it when it was first released, and made sure to pick up a copy when it came out on VHS.

Yep, Hardware Wars is great. So is Bambi Meets Godzilla. I just thought of a few more main-stream funny films... Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and The Pink Chiquitas. Attack of the Bee Girls is pretty good too.

Red Dwarf the Rimmer Munchkin song, that makes me roll over in laughter every time I see that bit. and also What Daleks think of Red Dwarf, yes there really is such a clip.

Spike from Buffy has some incredibly hilarious monologues. His impersonation of Angel in "In the Dark" is justly famous, as is the scene where he and Willow that he now has "trouble performing."

A brief but memorable sample of his wit: "He's a breath of fresh air, isn't he? Thank God I don't breathe."

That would be worth seeing, but I couldn't find it on You Tube.

The Rimmer munchkin song (perfect name for it, by the way :rommie:) is truly a great moment from Red Dwarf. Awhile back I was going to mention the time when, for some unknown reason, he winds up in an alternate reality where he isn't a hologram... he's so excited to be alive again that within moments he manages to accidentally kill himself again.

:scream:

But the munchkin song is much funnier. :guffaw:

The funniest thing to happen to Sci Fi is has got to be Battlestar Galactica. The funny moments happen every 2 mins. Take Friday's episode (5-17-08) The singing made me laugh. One last thing, can some one explain that a race capable of space travel uses a tape recorder to record radio signals. We have digital recorders and we can barely make orbit. They need a tech upgrade.

That actually makes sense in the context of the show though. If they digitally uploaded any signals, they run the risk that the signals contain a cylon trojan that will disable the ship.

It's not that they lack the technology, it's that they are paranoid that the particular technology in question will be used against them so they stick to analoguerecording methods.

Hope this answers your questions....and as it's your first post... welcome!
