Beyond the rim
If you were going to make the trilogy into a movie who would you cast.
Remember Elric, Alwyn, Morden, Anna, Isabel and Galen have already been cast but we still have Carvin, Kell, Fed, Fa, Eliza, Bunny, Blaylock, Burell and others that need good actors.

how about Anjelina Jolie as bunny...

that woman could make any role look good

Eric Etebari (from Witchblade) as Elizar.

I picture Bunny more as a blonde, say .... Sharon Stone.

Carvin- Lucy Lawless
Kell- Daniel Benzali
Fed- John Spencer
Fa- CGI voiced by Haley Joel Osment
Elizar- Sean Bean
Bunny- Sharon Stone
Blaylock-Daniel Benzali
Burell- Shirley MacLaine

In all candor, I'd probably recast Isabelle as such a critical role. (No, not with me, though that's an idea
wink.gif
)

Isabelle-Alyson Hanigan

Lol, now there's an eclectic cast.

Carvin- Lucy Lawless?
Naah, not young enough, and too experienced. Carvin's a teenage girl. I'd pick Mira Sorvino, because she could play younger than Lucy Lawless.

Kell- Daniel Benzali ?
Blaylock-Daniel Benzali ?
Notice anything here??

Remember Blaylock is gaunt. He denies himself the physical pleasures of life, so he's unlikely to be as portly as Daniel Benzali. I'd have picked Jim Norton (Ombuds Wellington) as Blalock. How about Patrick Stewart as Blalock?

Remember, Kell has dark skin. I'd pick, Morgan Freeman or Samuel L. Jackson.

Elizar- Sean Bean?
I still prefer Eric Etebari (Ian Nottingham of Witchblade) in this role. He's dead-on perfect as Elizar.

How about Razeel and Tilar?
Angelina Jolie would make a good Razeel.
Tilar? Who could portray a mid-to-late-twenties, more than slightly off-kilter Centauri?? Hmm. Daniel Day Lewis or John Malkovich?? You know, this movie's getting expensive.

Now there's an interesting choice.
smile.gif
Is this why you picked Alyson Hannigan as Isabelle, another redhead? I'm perfectly happy with Sophie Ward as Isabelle.

By the age standard, Peter Woodwards too old to play Galen during this trilogy. I do think Mira's a good choice, but I would stick with Lucy because of her physical abilities.

I could go with Patrick Stewart as Blaylock. (This movie IS getting expensive. lol) And actually, that was a typo. Kell should have read John Spencer.

Remember, Kell has dark skin. I'd pick, Morgan Freeman or Samuel L. Jackson.

I do not remember the description of the color of his skin. I'd be happy with either of these two in the cast, however.

I just didn't particularly care for Sophie's portrayal. (Though the book's description of the cause of death sets up incredible obstacles for an actress in that scene.)

The more I watch BtVS, the more impressed I am with Alyson's range. I think that Isabel's playfulness and resourcefulness and depth would be very well served by having her in the cast.

Good point about Peter Woorward.

Re. Mira Sorvino, go watch The Replacement Killers.

It's one of the few action movies that I can watch repeated times without getting tired of it (Dead Bang and Ronin are other good examples of this, though without Mira Sorvino).

While Alyson would be a good choice, especially considering Shirley MacLaine as Burell.

I like Mira Sorvino as Carvin, she has the right kind of face.
Morgan Freeman as Kell, yes. (Odd thing about Kell, Jeanne said that even though she had made him dark skinned she heard Sean Connery's voice while she was writing his words)
Your right this is getting to be a pretty expensive project, I'd better start rolling my pennies

Cern,

Oohhhh, Juliet Landau would be -PERFECT!!-

Okay, here is someone who I think could do a young Galen, Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor on Smallville)

For Bunny, I was thinking possibly Bridgette Wilson from Last Action Hero and Mortal Kombat

Or Clare Kramer from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Bring it on

I need to think more on the other chars.

Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova's recommendations. Ivanova is God. And if this ever happens again, Ivanova will personally rip your lungs out.

Now that I've finally read the books, I can at least think about this as well...

Morgan Freeman would make a perfect Kell. And I think Kell was Human... at least I don't remember anything from the books that would have said otherwise.

And I would love to see Patrick Stewart as Blaylock - he'd have the kind of serenity that Blaylock would need.

The others... hmm... Ing-Radi would be difficult to cast.
lol.gif
She'd have to be an older actor, even with the makeup, I think. I wonder if Vanessa Redgrave could pull her off...?

Elizar... hard to say. Not Sean Bean, it ought to be a younger actor. I haven't seen Eric Etebari in anything and have no idea what he looks like, so I can't say anything about that.

What about G'Leel? Perhaps that would be a good role for Lucy Lawless?

why recast Galen? if Boxleitner can play himself 15 years younger, than Woodward can do it too. let him start out with a little bit of hair on his head and no one would know the difference.

How about Meg Foster as Circe?

Regarding Vanessa Redgrave as Ing-Radi, you may be onto something here.

As for Eric Etebari, well, let's just say that Jeanne Cavelos agreed with me.

I'll try to find some better pictures, but as you can see here, he captures Elizar's intensity.
